FBI Carnivore System...Help

I am doing my research paper on Carnivore. I need some good sourced, ie scholarly jorunals and reports, i already have the common websites. Also any statistics on the issue would be appreciated. Can anyone help me out?

try searching google
narrow it down to the .edu domain by typing 'FBI Carnivore site:edu'
without the qoutes.
this works with other domains too. eg ' whatever site:gov '

you might want to try searching under the new name 'DCS1000'

Check out slashdot for the .edu's that studied it. Also, check with a non-government related group that actually cares about civil rights. They will deffinately have information on Big Brother's new toy.

it is rumored to run in the ISPs themselves often the the co-lo room with all the other servers...thing that makes them stand out is that they have a jaz drive in them which woudl be fairly useless if your server is co-lo'ed unless you were sending someone by to pick them up regularly...got this from a friend who works at an ISP here in Dallas, but don't know where he found the initial info but he did confirm that a server matched this description but he couldn't look at it to see what its running since hes not in systems...

maybe this will help you narrow down some of what your searching for...
