This is a continuation from my predicament here. Basically, it stems from a problem I have faxing to a specific person. It's a fax machine in Australia, and it's one of those fax machines that doubles as a phone/answering machine.
Not sure if it's because of the ring tone in Australia, or if it's just flaky software, but it drops the call after about 3 rings telling me that it's busy or no dial tone. (yes there is a dial tone because I can hear it through the speaker, and it's not a busy tone either). Calling it manually from a phone connected to this phone line works fine, although it's a good minute before the fax machine on the other side even is ready to receive a fax.
Anyways, I've given up trying to configure the modem to try ring more times before it drops. I'm looking into trying to get a fax application that will allow me to manually initiate the fax send without dialling via the modem. I'm planning to call using the phone, and basically wait until it's ready to receive a fax, and then initate the send at that point. However, I can't find any software that will do it. I've tried Windows Fax, and Mighty Fax, and neither supports this.
Has anyone come across software that does this? I'm trying to dig up my old copy of Winfax to see if they offer a feature like this...but wanted to throw this out there in case Winfax doesn't do the trick, or if someone knows of something else that does the same thing?
