The organisation I work for (4000 users) wants to do this...

On their workstations send and recieve fax through the network. They want a message to appear on their screen that says a fax has been received (for that specific user).

Does anyone know of any software, or even better, hardware sollution for this?

I have a dedicated machine at work to handle outgoing faxes from documents. It also serves as our dialin to PC Anywhere at night.

What I did is have the fax software - winfax installed at this machine and then since it does drop a fax printer, I shared that fax printer over the network (installed the printer on client systems). Now all they do is point the output to that printer, and it faxes it out.

Earlier I worked at this software company that used a UNIX package to do this.
