Can any of you guys recommend a good, reliable a fax server?

We do a pretty good volume on 2 lines. Exchange integration not required but the more features the better I guess.

We've had a Faxpress box for a few years and it is HORRIBLE.

I swear I'm going to go Office Space on it one of these days.

thanks

We use fax@vantage and have never had any problems, 5 lines and 1000's of faxes a day.

I have set up hylafax on several different linux and bsd servers, it works well for me. It is sort of like swatting a fly with a sledgehammer, it is used with huge gangs of modems sending out thousands of faxes a night, but it gets the job done.

The last one I did with Debian
Freebsd has a port for it.
It has built in email to fax support.
There are several free clients you can use on the network as well.
Unlike the other solutions, it is open source and free for commercial use.

Captaris RightFax
Using a Brooktrout SR140 software fax board
T.38 throughout my Cisco infrastructure

The fax server will run fine in a VM and all ISR's will support T.38. I have 2 pri's terminated in a 2811 providing over 400 fax numbers for end user faxes. My SR140 is an 8 channel. Rightfax accepts the fax in and uses an exchange connector to deliver a pdf of the fax into exchange mailboxes.

My boss just bought a FaxPress Premier box based on a recommendation from our phone system vendor. It's a replacement for about 6 fax machines and It's actually scheduled to be installed next week. If you don't mind me asking... What version do you have? What kind of problems have you experienced? Are you integrated with Exchange/Outlook?

My understanding is that our old fax machines/lines will be turned off very quickly after the FaxPress box is implemented, so I'd like to know if there's anything I should look out for right away.

GFI Faxmaker is OK. It can be installed right on your Exchange server if it is low volume. I would go ahead and pick out the card that you will need to interface with the lines though. The last one I got was a BrookTrout 8-port analog, and it wasn't cheap.

What is wrong with Server 03's Fax Server?

It's our main one, but granted we do about 20 faxes a day at most.
