Favourite rum(s) to make Mai Tais?

I fell in love with the Mai-Tai on my recent trip to Hawaii. I have started experimenting at home with different rums and mixes in search of the ultimate. Of course even with the perfect Mai-Tai it won't come close to watching the luau hula girls with one in hand. What are some good rum combos you have run accross for Mai-Tais?

With all that other junk in it, the kind of rum you use really doesn't matter.

Squeeze them from out of your balls since you won't be needing those anymore if you're drinking nothing but mai tais =p

I have found that to some degree, though the mix of light and dark rums sometimes makes it taste better/worse I found. I thought maybe there was a staple rum to use and that you guys would know it.

Of course, because what one drinks is directly related to ones self image, and has nothing to do with enjoying oneself. 🙂

Ha, yeah I was just kidding. I like a good mai tai mai-self sometimes too.
