god money just tell me what you want me to

i'd rather die
than give you control

black as your soul
i'd rather die
than give you control

bow down before the one you serve
you're going to get what you deserve
bow down before the one you serve
you're going to get what you deserve

god money's not looking for the cure
god money's not concerned about the sick among the pure
god money let's go dancing on the backs of the bruised
god money's not one to choose

no you can't take it
no you can't take it
no you can't take that away from me

Head Like a Hole, no contest

Isla, I'm shocked, you shouldn't be listening to that type of music. :p

Head Like a hole. That whole album rocked. It was about his ex-girlfriend I think - called "pretty hate machine?"

Big man with a Gun off Downward has the best lyrics of any song I've ever heard <EG>

March of the Pigs (particularly the March of the F**khead remix) and Herasy (I also like the blind mix, and I think I'm the only person that does) are also excellent...Reptile is good to...

And any track off Pretty Hate Machine except Terrible Lie and Down In It (not that they are bad, just not as great as the rest), but especially Head Like a Hole..

Wish, Last and Happiness In Slavery off of Broken are excellent to...

I absolutely hate the new crap...the only song even remotely worth being attributed to Reznor on the Fragile is Starf**kers Inc. (of course that's my opinion I know lots of people that love it)

I think my overall favourite would have to be Head Like A Hole though, and the music video is damn cool to.

Another vote for Head Like a Hole. Actually I really liked the entire album ("Pretty Hate Machine" especially including Terrible Lie, Down In It, Ringfinger and Terrible Lie).

I got to see the first NIN tour in 1991 as part of a big festival concert (the first one organized by Perry Ferrel) and again in a small packed place (2,000 people) in Hawaii, 1992. Totally awesome!

However, I got pretty tired of Trent Reznor with each suceeding album. Talk about a downward spiral.

Boy I used to love trent and nin. Somehow I grew out of that "tortured soul" period of life and think it's about time he did too. I saw him/them at lolapolooza, the downward spiral tour (at universal amphitheatre, still one of the best shows I've ever seen), and on the tour with bowie. I listened to the latest album at a virgin megastore and it just sounded like more of the same "life sucks, i hate god, i want to die" posing that seemed so fresh with downward spiral.

It's strange how music you once identified with so strongly can totally turn you off just a few years later. I'm either getting wiser or just plain older.
