I moved away from drinking beer to trying out wine about a year ago.

Initially, I was adventurous and bought a few different types each week to try. However, it seem lately i've been in a rut and drinking the same thing over and over - basically Yellow Tail Chardonnay, Monkey Bay, and ecco domani.

anyone have a good white wine (chardonnay, sauv blanc, pinot grigio(but that can be a little stinky sometimes))?

nothing too sweet like a riesling...

Moscato d'asti (find some at costco). Reisling (Columbia Valley, Washington isn't too bad).

Charles Shaw has some good cheap white wine if that's what you're into.

I don't drink much white, but I've recently found some pretty good Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand in the $9 - $12 range, which is about as much as I'm willing to spent on a bottle of white.

Recommending wines on here always makes me feel like a brand whore but only big brands are universally available.

- Clos Du Bois Chardonnay is good stuff if you like the oaky stuff. This is actually one of my favorite chards, brand whore or no brand whore
- Fetzer also makes a good chard
- Kendall Jackson makes a drinkable Sauvignon Blanc
- Roussannes from Washington are usually quite good no matter who the producer (kinda a lesser known grape so most of the people that take a chance on it are already successful with other wines)

I know you said no sweets but Chateau St. Michelle Reisling and Fetzer Gewurztraminer are both standbys I share with non-wine-drinkers often.

Parducci makes great wines, red or white. Navarro too, if you can find it.

I like Chardonnays from Santa Barbara area in general, so that's always worth a try if you see something that's a good deal.

I like Sauvignon Blanc its also called Fume Blanc. Its not quite as sweet as Chardonnay. You can get a some good ones in the $8 to 12. Clos Du Bois has a good one. My favorite which is froma small vineyard is Murphy Goode. There are also some good ones from New Zealand which taste surprisingly different than the West Coast, USA varieties.

NZ wine FTMFT. Actually I don't drink much wine but I can ask my GF for you. She can also recommend a handbag that will match your vagina.

Red > white. White wine is for girls.

EDIT: Ok, if you want a really good chardonnay, try Hyatt Vineyard's Chardonnay. http://www.hyattvineyards.com/

It's usually like $11 per bottle, but you won't be disappointed. You might have a tough time finding it though.

Riesling Red or White Wine - the stuff that says Relax on the side. I will drink those until I pass out! I think they are delicious for the price.

??? Is that a brand? Riesling is a white wine grape, so there's no such thing as a red Riesling, that I know of, unless it's a label and that would be a weird label...

[edit] Looked it up; cool stuff. Thanks for teaching me something new. :)

There are some delicious dry(ish) Rieslings out there. Of course I don't have any on hand and I can remember the bloody brand I normally get.

<$10 ? I'm all for cheap booze but pretty much any wine in that range is going to taste about the same (quality wise).
