Half Life's "ride through Black Mesa" was awesome and VERY memorable ... though I still get goosebumps watching the opening conversation in Deus Ex.

I think FF8 had one of the best opening scenes. Pretty good story, but gameplay could have been better.

Just watched it, was fucking lame. As for the best, well Terra Nova was sweet in it's day. The first Dawn of War game has a badass intro.

Agreed with Dawn of War...and Prototype's intro catches my eye for some reason, probably the nice CG

I recall watching that shortly after install and thought I was in for one of the best games ever made, BOY WAS I WRONG.

The entire game of Phantasmagoria was an interactive movie, it has not aged well, but the music is still good and it was an excellent game. It scared the hell out of me when I played it when I was like seven years old.

When I first saw/heard that at the age of 9-10, I knew something awesome was coming and omg I loved that game.

I played it on a crappy old DOS machine with a turbo button. Had to make a boot disk just to play it and my dad and I spent hours mucking around with IRQs so that the godamn sound would work. But so awesome.

Fallout 3 is pretty good.

Can't think of any other game where the opening scenes show a first person perspective of being birthed.
