Favorite song?

My 5 favorite songs are:

1) Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen
2) Tangled Up In Blue by Bob Dylan
3) Midnight Tran to Georgia by Gladys Knight and the Pips
4) Me and Bobby Mcgee by Janis Joplin
5) Hmm.....have to go with Tunnel Of Love by Dire Straits for now.

What are yours?

Narrowing it down to 5 favorites is next to impossible for me. My favorites list would be at least 100 songs - minimum.

1) Mogwai - Helicon 1
2) Dntel - High Horses Theme
3) Mogwai - Mogwai Fear Satan
4) Smashing Pumpkins - Silverfvck
5) The Books - All Our Base Are Belong to Them

It always changes of course, but if I had to be put on a desert island these would probably be my songs.

Edit: O I would add Bone Thugs N Harmony - Why Do I Stay High somewhere in there

top 5 songs this week for me (in no particular order):

bob dylan - hurricane
alice in chains - dont follow
van morrison - moon dance
lauryn hill - to zion
lole y manuel - tu mira

edit: and yes, i cant pick just 1 or even top 10 fave songs at that, my top 5 changes every few days... feel like rob gordon* now.

*rob gordon is john cusack's character in 'high fidelity'. always discussing top 5 picks for different topics, mainly music.

I don't know the names of the songs, but I've been switching between a couple of KMFDM and pigface cds for the past week or so.

my 100th post!!! 🙂

to keep this on topic: My fifth favorite song changes from time to time, but the first four were pretty much set for a long time.

Queen - The Show Must Go On
Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls
Billy Joel - New York State of Mind
Guns N' Roses - November Rain
Steve Winwood - Higher Love

Of course these aren't my five favorite of all time, that would be impossible. My favorites right now perhaps.

5 random songs that i really like but cant think of any better right now, in no order

Pink Floyd's "Dogs"
Dire Straits' "on every street"
Deep Purple's "Smoke on the water" Extended version
Jethro Tull's "thick as a brick" Full version
Alice Cooper's "Poison"

flavor of the week

KOTOKO - CROSS UP
Morikawa Yuki - White Album
Hashimoto Miyuki - Koko ni iru kara
Minao - Te no Hira no Hikari
Matsuura Yuki - Pure Enough

Sorry to nitpick, but it's Dire Straits. They are my favorite band, so I am a little bit anal about them.

Have you heard The Finer Things by Steve Winwood? IMO, it's a better song. and it's on the same album.

That's a great song too, but it's a bit too "pop". 🙂

Eh, nearly impossible to narrow it down to 5 songs but I'll give it a try..

1. Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven (classic song, can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet)
2. Pink Floyd - Money
3. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man (IMO, Skynyrd's best song, followed closely by Freebird)
4. Led Zeppelin - Bron-Yr-Aur (any guitar player can appreciate this song)
5. Jimi Hendrix Experience - 1983 or Led Zeppelin - Dazed and Confused

I like way too many songs/bands to have a clean cut top 5. Kinda hard to leave out the Eagles, Guns n' Roses, Queen, Dire Straits, Yes, Eric Clapton, Blue Oyster Cult, etc.

btw free bird fuckn sucks ass. i remember reading a whole thread here of people praising it and then i went and listened to it, and wondered what the hell the big deal was.

If you want a Skynyrd ballad, how about Tuesday's Gone?
