2. New house with hard wood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, etc ...the works

3. 2008 Honda CRV EX AWD

4. Blackberry Storm

5. Furniture (honorable mention for my recliner :))

It's been an expensive year.

Your job must be quite recession-proof.

I'm an accountant, and my wife is a physical therapist

her job is more recession-proof than mine

5. Nissan Versa hatchback - In this difficult economy it was difficult to justify a car purchase, but a new job made it necessary. The versa's a nice littler car, cheaper than some used cars while getting 33 mpg. A very practical purchase that will not impress any girls but.. Who needs girls?

My dad got one, I like it!

4. iPhone - Actually, my company gave me one so it wasn't a purchase, but I wouldn't mind spending $200 on it. I use it everyday, my old sansa is collecting dust, and Apps increase functionality (keeping me from getting bored). The company i work for is also probably happy that I'm now always reachable - I used to leave my blackberry home off hours but now carry my iPhone with me 24/7

hurts with the $70/month contract -_-

I bought a LOT of things in the past few months ("thanx" but no thanks live.com 30% >_>)

Dunno how to rank, so I'll just list them:

Sony A200 DSLR + 18-70mm (kit) lens
Wife made me buy it. We had $200 in Sony points doing nothing, and this was on sale (big discount) at the time so...

50mm f/1.7 + 70-210 f/4 lens for DSLR
Great lenses to supplement above purchase - optical quality great! Unfortunately external physical appearance of said lenses weren't exactly to par, but I really needed the lenses for the trip to Japan

Acer XP Netbook
2.2 lbs (2.7 w/ 6 cell battery), XP, 8.9", where can you go wrong? Oh yeah, get it stolen on Thanksgiving day :|

Aiptek HD Camcorder
Shoots 1280x720p @ 60fps beautifully in optimal conditions. Also stolen :(

4 x 750gb hdds in Raid 5
Best purchase EVER! Stuck this in a spare computer and setup software Raid 5 in XP. Wish I got 5...

Ipod Touch 2g
Got this for the wifey. She loves it, and I like it :)

Sheesh, I wonder what I bought at the 1st 1/2 of the year?
