5. XM Radio mostly music subscription - enough selection to make both my wife & I happy without paying for extra channels we'd never use.

4. Furminator pet brush - wife loves it for grooming the dog and it keeps the floor clean longer.

3. MSI P45 Neo3-FR mobo - overclocks well and no stupid bios issues like the Gigabyte 965 it replaced.

2. EVGA 9600 GSO - great price and just right for 1280x1024 gaming.

1. eD A2-300 subwoofer - caught it on sale. it's so much better than my old Dayton 12" sub and makes music & movies more enjoyable.

1. New computer, built from scratch except for peripherals. Old computer is now my HTPC.
2. Disgaea DS. I loved it when it was on PS2 years ago. The DS version is just as great, only now I can play it anywhere.

And that's pretty much it. I've been saving like a madman for most of the year. The money will eventually go towards either a) paying off my car loan, or b) downpayment on a house.

I can't recall purchasing anything else this past year. Some new clothes, but I kinda needed those.

1) New upper & lower radiator hose, thermostat and coolant for my car.
The upper rad hose was flat when cold, the thermostat was the original at 115k & the coolant had 50k on it.

2) Non working Lite-On Set-top DVD Recorder for $10 from Craigslist.
Had to replace the DVD-RW drive in it which was $15 for a replacement.

3) 500GB Maxtor OneTouch4.
Got it for $67 shipped back in June which was a really good deal.

4) A non working tray loading Sega CD from FS/T.
Bought it for $10 and all that was wrong was a blown pico fuse. Couple bucks later and it's working perfectly.

That's pretty much it, I haven't really bought a whole lot of stuff this year.

GTX 280: Crysis on ultra high at 1920x1200? Oh baby.
Lucasi 706 pool cue: I find my game improving a great deal now that I have my own personal cue and don't have to continually adjust to the particular idiosyncracies of your average bar cue. It pisses my friends off that I can regularly beat them now. Who could ask for anything more?
80 GB Zune: Because fuck Apple, that's why. That and it's fun to give elderly people a ride (not like that, pervert, I meant in my car... and still not like that. Pervert.) and have Lil Jon start blasting out the stereo (Til the sweat drips down my... Shit, sorry Mrs. Nelson!)
Cell phone. OK, the phone itself is just a phone (with Tetris!), but it's my first cell phone where I'm not sharing a plan with anyone (no family, no girlfriend... freedom!).
Cable. The novelty of this is still fresh, since I just had it installed, but being able to watch sports in high definition, not to mention the On Demand and HBO, is just great. Oh, and my average gaming ping went from 100 to 30. And I can download porn so fast, I'm going to need a bank of hard drives to hold it all. Booyah.

5. Swarovski Malachite Kingfishers crystal statuette. Gift for my mom. She's gonna flip when she gets it. She loves Swarovski crystal and this is the first time I've bought one for her; usually it's from my dad.

Your job must be quite recession-proof.
