As a recent purchaser of a PS3, i'd really like to know what everyone's FAVORITE game is on the PS3..i'm talking about the game you've spent countless hours on, the game you've told all of your friends about, the game you wanted so bad you would have given up food to be able to purchase (if necessary, lol)..so yeah, post'em here folks! I'd like to buy some new games but i need to know what games people like the best and why..
 
Play the Uncharted series.
Then try Heavy Rain.
Resistance is good too.
Killzone 2 for online (unfortunately no longer populated as it used to be).
LBP is good.
inFAMOUS is great.

You looking for PS3 exclusives or anything? I'm a recent PS3 purchaser as well and have yet to find anything I'd call a die hard favorite, but all I've played is exclusives. For non-exclusives I would have said get Red Dead Redemption, but it looks like you already have that.

I played through the first Ratchet and Clank PS3 game and I thought it was great. I blasted through it because it was so much fun, and when you beat it you unlock a challenge mode which is just the game again but quite a bit harder. I'll probably go through that eventually too it's that good. There's a 2nd one too that I want to get.

I've had pretty good fun with Infamous, but it's taking a while to get going. It came free as a bundle so it was definitely worth it, but I'm not sure it's worth much over $15.
 
I have quite a backlog of games that I haven't played yet, but my favorite so far is Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction. The only negative to it is that it's somewhat of a rehash of the previous R&C games, but since I never played any others, it's no problem for me.
 
Most of the exclusives, but not all(LBP,Killzone 2) are great but one is clearly the best.

I'd rank like this:

1. Demon's Souls
2. Wipeout HD
3. Uncharted 2
4. Gow 3
5. Gow Collection
6. Uncharted 1
7. Infamous
8. Modnation Racers
9. R&C (Both)
10. Hot Shot Golf
500. Killzone 3
 
I am really enjoying Demon's Souls right now. Other than that, God of War 3 is about the only other PS3 title I'd say were close to my favorite. I hated MGS4 and FFXIII was interesting at first, but I haven't even touched it in weeks.

Duuuuuuuuude..same here..i played it for a good 3 solid weeks..then i lost complete interest in it...it's just way to linear...not like the other ones with free roam on a ship..at least i havent gotten to that point if there is even one
 
I don't think any of the games I've played so far meet your criteria in the OP, but my favorite two are Valkyria Chronicles and Flower.
 
Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds. One of the best online multi-player games I've ever played period. It's a fun and easy golf game with an excellent interface, swing system, physics and gameplay. While it's not the best in terms of what is visually possible with game engines, I find it far more attractive than Tiger Woods. The depth of this very simple game is amazing, and the online competition is very fun even though it is getting thin. The only annoyance, if you think about such things as such, is that you have to go through the entire single-player campaign to unlock the courses, characters, and equipment.
 
I am also looking for that killer game. I've only had my PS3 for a few days and the only game I've played so far is little big planet and uncharted. Little big planet is fun to play with my wife but I doubt I'd touch it alone. Uncharted has been pretty good but I really hate how the enemies shots NEVER MISS unless you are specifically behind cover. It really pisses me off when some dude jumps off a cliff 200 yards away and hits me with an Ak47 right in the face.

Exactly...i'm looking for that ONE game..that will fulfill all my gaming needs so that i can stop buying them

Once you've found it, please let the rest of us know! It would be nice to keep from having to buy games and to be able to sell the ones I already have!

For me, that game was Diablo 2 for quite a while (1-2 years). I was in college and didn't have much money, so that probably contributed to that as well 😛

I agree with everything here, except replace Heavy Rain with GoW3. Remove Heavy Rain entirely from the list 🙂
 
there are 3 MUST play games.

1) metal gear solid 4
2) little big planet
3) uncharted 2

Next tier I would say resistance(I liked the first one a LOT more than that second), God of War 3, infamous, and ratchet and clank

Using words like "my sshizzzle" makes me think that you're 15 and live with your parents; therefore, you're lying about the college part 😛.

Edit: Maybe college is synonomous with middle school where you live.
