Well, I haven't had any problems buying online yet (knock on wood) and I have bought from a variety of companies like NewEgg, Directron, EB, Crucial, Just Deals, Consumer Depot, Dell...some of them I know do not have high ratings from Anandtechers.

Dell isn't always the quickest to ship but lately I have been getting some hella deals from them with promotions and coupon codes. With pricing like: $75 Adaptec 29160LP Ultra/160 SCSI controller, $128 18GB Ultra/160 10K RPM SCSI HDD, $115 Seagate 80GB 7200RPM HDD, $60 per peice 512MB Registered ECC SDRAM, it is hard for them not to be one of my favorites

With that said, I really only go to Dell if I know I can get a good deal. Companies like NewEgg and Crucial are usually the first checked because I know the service, pricing, and shipping will be good.

Whoever is cheapest

I go on pricewatch and look for inexpensive. That being said, I only will order online, from companies that
have a concrete shipping charge/plan and have a decent site. I' ve ordered from places like OCIE and Z-Buy
with success (Z-Buy had really fast shipping).

I haven't been burned yet, but, I'm sure I will eventually get burned. In the meantime, I'll get my stuff the
cheapest I can

If you mean hardware, none because I live in Malaysia and none of the hardware stores that I know of ship internationally.

But in general my favourite online retailer is Amazon. They ship fast and have some good promotions (although most of the time they don't apply to me). Too bad Amazon doesn't ship software and games internationally though... but I guess they have to do that otherwise people like me will try to avoid import duty by gift-wrapping our orders and shipping them as gifts!

Like too many is the computer biz, Crucial is just fine if you're buying something, not so good if you've got a bum product.

Newegg's getting all my business from now on. They have consistantly good prices and process/ship extremely quick - never been more than 3 or 4 days before I have an item (and I'm on the opposite coast). Unfortunately they don't carry everything, so you gotta go elsewhere for stuff like Papst fans and particular motherboards.
