Whattup guys, Im still configuring this damn computer lol. I'm torn tho, I wanna know ur thoughts on mid towers. Whats your favorite on the market and why? A link to it would also rule! =)
I have to say the Antec Super LANBoy mid-tower isn't bad for $40 (COMPUSA after MIR a month ago). At first I thought it was too flimsy but it's not bad and very light.
I love the way they turned the hard drives so the IDE cables don't block airflow and the big 120mm intake and exhaust fans. I want to add an 80mm on the plexiglass side to blow in on the CPU and balance out the power supply exhaust fan.
Stupid tool tray latch hangs all the time, though.
I want to mod my other cases to turn the hard drives 90 degrees, that's a great feature!
Antec SLK3000-B/SLK3700-AMB or Compucase 6A19 series (all the same inside). One of the best designs ever but can be a bit cramped for full-lengh add-on cards. The Evercase 4292 (the most recent rev. with 120mm fan mounts) is equally good but you have to buy the HD cushions separately - the cushions come with the other cases.
. Except for relatively unimportant issues like appearance, it's hard to find a better case than the above.
And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the Kingwin 424/Beantech Igloo series of cases...
The TT Armor/Kandalf and the CM Stacker. Great functionality, love the 120mm fan top keep HD's cool on the CM. I'm not sure about bringing it to LAN parties though...so I guess the Lian-Li PC-6077B looks cool...http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-112-044&depa=0
As of now I have this really odd Chenming 301 with only one 80mm side fan and not two. The store I got it at claimed it as an Antec. Ah well, it supports all of my current needs.
I'm all about my Lian Li PC-6070B. quietest case I've ever used. 3 panaflos, zalman 7000, and artic cooler, and the whole thing is incased with foam, doors are rubberized too.
