The actual words were;

Sam - "If I take one more step, it'll be the farthest away from 'ome... I've ever been"

I've listened to that over and over while practicing the sound track that's being played at that scene.

I agree, it's an inspiring line. Though the whole movie/book is inspiring :)

<< SAM "If I take one more step, I will be the farthest from home I will ever be." (loosely paraphrased).

That line means so much to me... To me it symbolizes how little effort is really required to break out beyond our
shells and to explore new things. The only thing holding us back are the mental chains within our minds. Some day,
I hope the be as brave as Samwise Gamgee.
>>

:) I'm a big Sam fan too... the true hero of LOTR.

some more...

Boromir: "Have you ever seen it Aragorn? The white tower of Ecthelion... Glimmering like a spike of pearl and silver...it's banners caught high in the morning breeze...have you ever been called home by the clear ringing of silver trumphets?"
Aragorn: "I have seen the White City......long ago.."
Boromir: "One day our paths will lead us there...and the tower guard shall take up the call...the lords of Gondor have returned."

Boromir: "I would've followed you my brother...my captain...my king"

Aragorn: "I would have gone with you to the end...into the very fires of mordor"

and the other ones mentioned here already

Whew... I could list a million.

Merry & Pippin
stealing Gandalfs fireworks:
"No, no! The big one! Big One!"
(Runs in tent)
(lights firework)
"Done!"
"You're 'sposed to stick it in the ground"
"It is in the ground!"
"Outside!"
"This was your idea!"
(Tent goes up in flames!) :D

"What's that?"
"This my friend, is a Pint!"
"It comes in Pints? I'm getting one!"

"We've had one, yes. What about second breakfast?"

"What about elevensies? Luncheon? Afternoon tea? Dinner? Supper? He knows about them, doesn't he?"

Bilbo:
"The last eleventy-one years if far to short a time to live amongst such excellent and admirable Hobbits"

Saruman - "Your love for the Halflings leaf has clearly has Clearly slowed your mind."
Do you think he is insinuating Gandalf gets high too often? hehe :D

Gatekeeper:
"'Hobbits!... Four 'Obbits!"

Gandalf
"I will help you bare this burden Frodo Baggins, as long as it is yours to bare."

Hey Mucman,

Being we're throwing out quotes and such, here's one you'll recognize (by noticing your sig)

"Attention all planets of the solar federation! We have assumed control! We have assumed control!"

I too am a Rush fan! :D

Good one Whitedog :)

"You won't get wise with the sleep still in your eyes"

And this whole song deserves to be quoted :

MANHATTAN PROJECT

Imagine a time when it all began
In the dying days of a war
A weapon ? that would settle the score
Whoever found it first would be sure to do their worst ?
They always had before...

Imagine a man where it all began
A scientist pacing the floor
In each nation ? always eager to explore
To build the best big stick
To turn the winning trick ?
But this was something more...

The big bang ? took and shook the world
Shot down the rising sun
the end was begun ? it would hit everyone
When the chain reaction was done
The big shots ? try to hold it back
Fools try to wish it away
The hopeful depend on a world without end
Whatever the hopeless may say

Imagine a place where it all began
They gathered from across the land
To work in the secrecy of the desert sand
All of the brightest boys
To play with the biggest toys ?
More than they bargained for...

Imagine a man when it all began
The pilot of "Enola Gay"
Flying out of the shockwave on that August day
All the powers that be, and the course of history,
Would be changed for evermore...

sorry for being so OT :p
