Personally I like a properly done fried vanilla ice cream. Hard to find though. Cookie dough, mint chocolate chip and cookies and cream make acceptable alternatives in that order

Vanilla with caramel or butterscotch, and some chocolate covered waffle cone pieces, or chocolate covered pretzels or something.

I once hit up a local ice cream joint in Nashville that made their own flavors. I think they bought vanilla and mixed different things with it instead of doing the whole process.

They sold a Nutter Butter Ice Cream that was pretty legit.

Mint chocolate chip; bonus if it includes oreos, brownies, or hot fudge.

Brand matters more than flavor for me. There are certain brands I won't buy regardless of price or flavor. Ben & Jerry, Blue Bell, and other shit ice cream brands are on my "never buy" list.

Ben & Jerry used to be so good. Now it's complete shit and inedible. I won't take it if you give to me for free.

You wash your mouth out with soap right now and TAKE THAT BACK!

The fuck is wrong with you? If you don't like this then you should seriously get your brain checked

I wouldn't go that far. I'll take all the B&J you want to give me, and I'll even sometimes buy it, but they really have slipped. Private companies are better than publicly traded. Their name still means something, and it's generally better protected.

I had a naga chilli ice cream once that was great. It was a bit of a head fuck in that when the heat kicked in you ate more to cool your mouth down and you end up in a wierd positive feedback loop!

For bars, my preference is Magnum and then Haagen-Dazs. For pints, my preference is Graeters, High Road, Haagen-Dazs, and Trader Joe's.

I stock up when I see Magnum, Haagen-Dazs, Graeters, or High Road on sale. Trader Joe's ice cream is my back up when I run out of sale ice cream and have to pay normal retail.

Ben & Jerry's used to be great. My favorite used to be Cherry Garcia and Everything ButThe. But Unilever changed something few years back and now the ice cream is no longer super rich and creamy. The texture is all wrong now and the ice cream taste fake and chemical. I can't eat it. I threw out the last couple pints I bought because it was so bad. I have Ben & Jerry's ice cream recipe book and the ones I make at home taste right and like the old Ben & Jerry's. Unilever ruined Ben & Jerry's. If you can't taste the change, you don't know your ice cream.

I know my ice cream, and I admit, it's not a home-made deep fried vanilla or anything, but it is fucking delicious with all the mixture of awesome ingredients inside.

No amount of standard flavors will suffice unless they add all the awesome things that Ben & Jerry's adds to it like toffee and peanut butter cups.

Blue Moon, everything else is feces compared to it (Superman is amazing too although it contains Blue Moon). And I definitely prefer ice cream that has some sorta fruit in it as opposed to chocolately or cookie stuff.

When I was out in WA I got some Tillamook ice cream, that was pretty tasty.
