No mention of Quake? Man, i used to crack a few beers and play Quake with the music as loud as my little Creative Labs speakers would let. Can't go wrong with Trent Reznor and a nail gun.

I ripped the Quake music and Mech Warrior 2 soundtrack when I was in high school. I used to listen to them in the car because I like them so much.

Some great examples in here... us oldies would love the old Sierra adventures with a Roland MT-32 sound module. *drool*

Star Wars X-Wing and TIE Fighter (especially) with General MIDI were amazing as well because the music was very much part of the gameplay. The music would build or fade in intensity along with the action and would often cue you to something big happening before you even realized how much trouble you were just about to be in. 😀

Use to listen to music all the time until R6, Then needed to hear the sounds and whispers, After playing that so much I couldn't listen to another tune while playing from that point on.

Risk of Rain OST... Loved it and i play it at work from time to time

Also loved the Metal songs of Guilty Gear (at least the one i played Guilty Gear X2 Reload)
