I'm compiling a favorite driving CD, and was thinking of my favorites. Sammy Hagar- Can't Drive 55 and my all time go fast tune, Deep Purple- Highway star. Have others too, but when YOU are in the mood, what's your favorite-crank-it-up driving tune(s)?

Just about anything by Bruce Springsteen. Especially Johnny 99, Born in the USA, Racing in the Street, and Thunder Road.

I think a more appropriate AC/DC song would be "Highway to Hell".

"Long, hard road out of Hell" by Marilyn Manson is pretty good too.

I've been driving all night, my hand's wet on the wheel
There's a voice in my head, that drives me heel
It's my baby callin', says I need you here
And it's half past four and I'm shifting gear
When she's lonely and the longing gets too much
She sends a cable coming in from above
Don't need no phone at all We've got a thing that's called... Radar love

For agressive driving in traffic, I recommend popping in Crystal Method's Vegas Album.

I just drove from LA to Indiana and I made 2 "driving discs" to go w/my usual assortment of Metal and industrial. My 2 driving discs mostly had good 'le rock 'n roll on them. CCR, George Thorogood<sp?>, Golden Earing (Twilight Zone and Radar Love), Mustang Sally, some Fog Hat, some Deep Purple. Classic Rock and drivin' all day on the open road seem to go hand in hand. I also had some Judas Priest and Wall of Voodoo(Mexican Radio).

depends what kind of driving i suppose. long highway 4 hr drive home from college or cruising down the streets with plenty of shiftin' action.

linkin park in general's pretty good, one of my faves is goo goo dolls- long way down. bush- speed kills is pretty sweet, i also like eve 6- inside out.

as for roadtrips, you can't make a cd without rolling stones - route 66.

Because of that damn rally video that was floating around here a couple of months ago, every time I hear "In the End" by Linkin Park, I have an uncontrollable urge to mash the gas in my car. Seriously.

my favs:

Amok Vibes - Energy (rave mix)
Cake - Going the Distance (speed song)
Offspring - Bad Habit (road rage song)
Parappa the Rappa - Instructor Mooselini (just a joke driving song)
Nelly - E.I. (nice bass, i would have picked "ride with me" but i hate that song)
Offspring - All I Want (the song from crazy taxi?)
