My favorite Christmas album was this old Disney Christmas record that we'd play. Sadly, we lost it and our turntable has been thrown out (along w/ the rest of the equipment that it was with because none of it worked anymore).

We haven't found anything to really replace the album and it's been about 8 years.

Edit: I know it said song, but this was the first thing that I thought of.

I love his Christmas albums.

Harry Connick Jr's rendition of "Ave Maria" is quite good too.

I dislike them all I think:

The 'vintage' or 'classic' ones are so over-played they now completley grind and simply conjure up the imagry of shops playing it 24/7 to get people into the 'Christmas Spirit' and hence spend more in the shop.

The modern tracks usually are ripped off from older ones or a normal songs but with silly bells added into the tune. These seem to be yet another way of getting money out of people by getting the christmas number one in charts.

However, there is one beautiful track which is sometimes played in church christmas ceremonies (been a while since I've been to one to be honest) which is kind of christmasy. It's called Lully, Lullay I think and it's pretty damned sweet. I believe Charlotte Church has covered it, but I've not heard it, I've only heard versions sung by church choirs....

either little drummer boy or o holy night. the artist doesn't matter as long as the rendition is traditional.

I just heard today that the founding members of TSO include two former guitarists of the metal group Sabotage and now a former member of Megadeth plays with them.

Also heard yesterday that "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" is the number one Christmas song, surpassing Bing Cosby's White Christmas a couple of years ago.

Picked up a BB King Christmas CD the other year. Good stuff on there. Gotta love a guy who can sing about the bluesy side of Christmas. Up here they play all that sappy crap on the radio all day.
