A question for a lot of you guys - I know that certain situations can't be helped, but what abouit the rest of you? What's holding you back from doing whatever it was that made you happy, like playing on a sandbox, running around playing sports on the street, etc.?

i played softball for several years as an adult, but injuries threatened my powerlifting (which i enjoy more), so i quit.

plus:
the street always hurt when i hit it.
there are more cars on the street where i live now.
i couldn't get enough adults/teens to join in.
i hit a ball much harder now (== busted car/house windows).

My uncle made sure I didn't have to deal with many so I had about 15 I remember. My grandfathers dog would also come with me.

🙁 Though he died one day (i cant recall why)
I remember however, everyday I would pass by his burial spot and leave 3 gold fish cookies on his resting place. And the next day they were gone. So I always believed he never died 😱 🙂

Wouldn't that have freaked you out rather than made you feel happy?

*no offense or anything*

Hehe... yeah you can look at it that way, when I was younger I always believed in spirits and my parents would talk regularly about old wive's tales about ghosts. So I was convinced the dog would return every night and eat the cookies I left for him.

(I have no clue how the gold fish disappeared, but I was over joyed that the next day they were not there any more, so I left a couple more 🙂 It was all merely wishful thinking, but I still have fond memories of the dog)

😱 Also... I remember watching Cobra (the Stallone flick) in turkey... I hid under my grandparents bed for a week. Man I was a wuss growing up 😱

(one could argue that I still am one today 😉 )
