Favorite childhood memory?

I miss playing Slip N Slide with my sisters and getting all excited when I heard the ice cream man coming down the street. I'd always get that red, white and blue popsicle. *sigh* Life was so much easier as a kid.

LOL i have almost the exact same memory.

But my favorite childhood memory would probably be going fishing with my dad every weekend... we would literally get up at 5am and drive 2-3 hours away to just go fishing.

i remember going fishing with my family and cooking the fish right at that site... those were the days...

Oh, you know how some playground sets have the tires on the chain, and people can sit on the tire and spin around? My neighbour climbed up the chain and stuck his tongue on the gyrating thing, and split his tongue in half. That was a good memory.

EDIT: Why he did that? I don't know. I think he wanted to lick the grease.

Hmm... I actually have alot, but I guess I miss camping in the woods, open fire, smores... chasing my brother around with a flaming marshmellow..

And SNACKS... during elementary school... 😀 I brought in a tray of lychee one time for Snack Day, and nobody at them... so I ate them all on the walk home. 🙂

I remember walking home from school one day in Kindargarten and somehow lost one of my boots... so i came home with only one. I don't remember much from those early years, but i still remember that and my mom questioning me how i could lose a boot but still have the other one. Man was i a retard.

Um... boot? In the snow or rain? :Q I remember being really excited about our new peach tree in the back yard. It only grew one peach, and my sisters and I waited for it to get bigger before picking it... the day before we decided to pick it, one of the neighborhood kids came by, picked it, took a bite, threw it down, and ran off. My sisters and I cried the whole day about it.

We also used to have a big fish tank. One goldfish had its eye sucked up by the filter, and it turned pure silver within days... to this day, I still have no idea what was up with that. We had this blowfish we named Pearl that died... it floated to the top and we had a burial for it outside under the deck. The next day, we found Pearl's remains by a pile of dirt... the neighbor's cat had dug her up and eaten her. 🙁

Wait... favorite childhood memory... doh...

LOL rain. LOL @ the peach and crying.

My neighbour (the kid that got his tongue split in half) and I were real brats... and we had these neighbour sisters who were ever bigger brats than us. And we played a lot of 'doctors' 😉

EDIT: i'll bet those girls grew up to be hookers.

Oh lordy, I could go on and on and on in this thread.

I had a really nice childhood, because I had a big brother and 2 big sisters who loved me. Everyone else thought I was a freak because I was cross eyed and uber-brainy, but they loved me and played with me all the time.

We used to come up with dorky performances for my mom with her Super 8 camera... "Ballet Moments" was especially hilarious... we did a disco routine and a comedy, too... heh, Mom had it all converted to VHS so my kids can watch Mommy happily making a fool of herself. 😀

My big brother used to sneak us out of our rooms every Sat night at 11:00PM so we could watch Monty Python's Flying Circus and SNL... and I mean during the first years they were on. 🙂 I was 8 years old, lol... those were the days.

While I'm at it, there was that awesome family vacation up the east coast... we took the Autotrain up to WV and drove all the way to Maine. I saw the World Trade Center when it was brand new... it was a big deal.

I remember i use to ride my bike EVERYWHERE. Even at 12 years old, riding a bike for an hour to a destination was normal, and did this almost daily over the summer. One time we decided to ride our bike to Toronto. That's about 60 miles from where we lived, so we had to leave at like 7am in the morning. Took about 8 hours to get there, since we had quite a few flat tires. But once we got there, we went to Chinatown and ate, then biked back. Trip on the way home was quicker, only about 6 hours i think.

Hehe, I better back away from the computer now. I really liked my childhood. It wasn't until puberty hit that all hell broke loose!

Me, too!

I didn't get a car until I was 18, so I rode my bike everywhere I needed to go. 🙂 That's why, to this day, I love cycling. 🙂

Heh.. Dragon Warrior IV (NES) when I was in 3rd grade.. I was sick for a week with the fever and couldn't move around much. So, my life was now an RPG. I beat it in a week. (Takes more than 60 hours to beat and explore everything.)

I also liked the times where my whole class, soccer team, or group of friends would all be doing the same thing.. Like, our soccer team would always go to 89th ST Pizza (an arcade/pizza place) after the games on Saturdays. And at the end of year parties, all the guys in my class would go to an arcade.. It was awesome beating the arcade games like Simpsons and TMNT 2 with 3 of your friends.

Oh.. and I had a soccer coach once that used to love to say things straight without the whole 'every child is special' attitude. He would tell the other kids that played midfield to play like me. And he said I was the best midfielder on the team.. It was great to have a coach comment like that.

BTW, I remember a LOT of stuff.. I can remember things from when I was 2 years old plain as day.

EDIT: Heh, I also loved playing police quest, space quest, and leisure suit larry at 10*10 resolution (okay, it seemed like that). I could answer 1/2 the leisure suit larry 'verify adulthood' questions when I was 7. I loved trying to interpret whether or not I was gonna die in space quest by the sound of the power supply fan. (I didn't know what the hell was in a computer.. I thought the fan would get louder when I was about to die. heh)
