I fire up Trillian about once every two weeks to talk to people. Daily instant messaging with my friends, I use IRC. If you're usually talking to the same people, register an IRC channel and use that instead. Much more fun, less laggy, and if you have a 24-7 connection, you get to use neat channel statistics 🙂

With more than a couple of people in an AIM or MSN room, it quickly becomes impossible to follow what's happening, especially with people's tendencies to use 2-line nicknames.

I use X-Chat for win32.

i use gAIM because it supports several clients (like trillian)

except i never liked trillian. all i do is a little chatting so i like gaim, i use it for (mostly) ICQ and a few MSN contacts
