What is it? Provide justification....

Obviously opinion based, be mature. Just wondering.

I like this stuff called "Stiff $*)@"

it's in a clear tube, and the gel is green

it works fantastic.

I used to use this stuff called "Spiked Out" to slick my hair back and hold it in place. The nice thing about it is that you don't need that much so your hair actually stays pretty soft.

ICE. holds very well, can probably sleep with it in my hair and wake up and still have my hair looking the same way.

Tresemme hydrology. I like the way it feels. Not sticky, but slippery like alcohol. Doesn't bunch hair together like Pantene gel does.

I never liked the way gel flakes so I've been using conditioner as gel for many years now. I just "set" it when it's wet with a little conditioner and it "holds" just like gel would. Pick the right conditioner and it won't flake.

I've done this before when I ran out of gel but never considered it a permanent solution. I equate it with using soap instead of shaving cream. Which conditioner do you use?

L'Oreal Special FX Studio Line Radical - kicks arse because it's a fibre gel and holds like a cross between putty and gel, but is flexible.

dax, its like wax, you gotta rub it in your hands to heat it up and make it easier to work with.

Crap, wish I knew off-hand.

I've been doing it this way for years. I used to have very long hair and it was a pain to set so I would use some conditioner and brush it back. When it dried I would run my fingers through it to take it out.

Now I have short hair, a caesars cut, and conditioner still works well to place my hair.

I know I used to use a Paul Mitchell conditioner but now I just use a regular brand. Some are worse than others for doing it this way and you don't want to use one that has a lot of fragrance otherwise you will stink!

1) Best hold is Joico ICE Spiker. HARDEST GEL EVER.
2) I've used Tigi Bedhead, not bad. It's pretty cheap too. BTW all these are hardcore, you need to go to salons to get them - or you can also get STIFF $(&*... but that's only here. you can probably pick them all up at your local drugstore. ;)

i use nioxin nio gel. it doesn't flake, holds very well, and washes out easier than anything i've ever used. also was told that it cleans your scalp or something to help keep you from going bald.

Well he asked for gel specifically, so I'd suggest American Crew as well, I also like the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree line, plus Fudge Hair Gum.

Whoops, here's the justification: AC smells nice, doesn't flake and holds well. PMTT also smells great, but it's a little thicker and more residue-ey. Fudge holds like a mofo, but if quite expensive.

Redkin 14, it might be 12 though... either way its the best hairgel ever. It's expensive as hell but a little bit goes a long way and this stuff holds really well but hair doesnt become like cement.

It's awesome! i can only find it at the hair cuttery though

Royal Crown Hair Dressing cut w/LA Looks (the green sh*t) Gel. Good stuff, holds through a hurricane.
