Faulty SD Card?

Hi guys, I just bought a new 1 GB SD card for my PDA. I was loading music files onto it and once I got about 367 MB of music on there I started getting error messages when copying files. Said something like "Cannot create file". At first I thought the lock had been accidently switched on, but it wasn't. I tried removing files and reloading the ones I just took off and got the same error message, so it's not like it's fooled into thinking it is full. Any ideas?
