Faulty Canon s750 head. Replace or new printer?

The printhead in my 15 month old s750 went the other day and I'm trying to decide what to do about it. It costs $60 for a new head from ebay, but after looking around it seems that a lot of s750 users are experiencing printhead problems around the 12-16 month mark. So, purchasing a new printhead may mean it will only last me that long. Another option would be to purchase an entirely new printer, but as starving grad student I don't have a whole lot of extra money to be throwing around. Any suggestions?

Just had a S750 head go too after 10k pages. Opted for a i560 at Sams for $89. Better print quality too. Didn't make since to replace the printhead.
I'm very pleased with Canon.

For $60, you might as well get a new printer. If you don't print much color, you should save up for a nice laser printer. You can get a decent one for less than $150 now.

How often do you use colour? I myself find I would have been better off with a small laser, might be the same for you.

I have a laser available in my lab, so I would like to have an inkjet at home for when I do print color. Thanks for the advice guys, perhaps I'll check out the i560.
