Either the Maxtor Atlas 15K II or Fujitsu MAU. You should be able to pick up a 73GB version of either plus a SCSI card for comfortably under $800. Both will drub the above mentioned Seagate drive.

You can get smaller SAS Cheatas inside your budget range. But you need a SAS controller.

I'll agree with Pariah that there are better price optoins for the "normal" (read "Less Rich but Still Wealthy" i.e. not me) people in the world.

Outperform handily. Seagate missed the performance boat with their most recently released SCSI drives.
