fathers day rocked

so i went home for a couple days to spend some time with dad. he knows im strapped for cash being a poor intern and was thrilled that i came home and only got him a card. we went to lowes looking at new bathroom and kitchen ideas for the house and in the end, he ends up buying ME an air conditioner for my apartment. i felt kind of bad accepting it on fathers day, but it just showed my how much he cares just plain rocks.

I told my wife that I wanted my father's day gift to be my family coming to my hockey.

My parents had a dinner at my house. I got him a set of Nikon binoculars for bird watching and he loved them.

I drove about 4 hours to see my dad and spend the weekend with him.. he recently got in a bike accident so his ribs are all messed up, etc. We got bombed and played guitar all weekend, it was good to get away but I'm glad to be back in Chicago

Got dad a Jigsaw for his Ryobi ONE+ battery toolset. Got a insanley good deal on eBay, so its not atually here yet, but he was cool with that.

Other than that, we ate breakfast at my borther and siter inlaws house, and went to a father's day picnic with our church at a local lake.

plus my mom made beef tenderloin and sent some back with me, so all in all, i think i made out better than dad.

and all my babies mommas did squat for me

My 12yr old daughter treated me to BD's Mongolian Bar-B-Que (the absolute best food this side of a Japanese Steakhouse) in Cleveland and then to Coldstone. Couldn't have asked for anything better than a day alone with my Daughter.

I spent a couple of hours at my Mom & Dad's house. He has everything he ever needs and wants, so I just got him a DVD - he loves watching movies. We ate some cherry pie my mom made, and just talked while we sat on his front porch.

We had to pick up a couple of storage cabinets from an old house and find a place to put them in the garage. There was much cussing and frustration.

It sucked ass.

I have no children and my sperm donor hasn't spoken to me or my sister in 18 years so Father's Day is just another day for me.

Went fishing with my dad all day. Got him 24 Season 2 and the Family Guy movie + a card with a"Go ask your MOM!" button in it.

My wife made me french toast for breakfast. My son (read: wife) gave me a new cookbook, a DVD with every X-Men comic on it, and some butter caramel peanuts.

Then, my parents, brother and sister-in-law, and grandparents came over. I cooked some kabobs for lunch.

After everyone left, I tried to take a nap, but was awoken by a 16 month old chanting "daddydaddydaddydaddydaddydaddydaddydaddy" and hearing my wife say "shhhhhh."

Ironically enough, Friday, the kid brought a door hanger home from day care with his hand print on it and the words, "shhh, daddy's asleep."

I'm still tired from my "day of rest."

Went to the Inner Harbor in Bal'more for a long weekend, had some great meals there, then to Fells Point the next day (all bars there). Went to leave on Sunday and found my SUV had been broken into (P.O.S.'s got absolutely nothing). Overall, had a lotta fun, but still waiting for insurance to estimate my damages.

Plus: Scored $50 Newegg GC, $30 Circuit City GC, $80 OfficeMax GC, plus I got my EVGA Step Up 7900GT KO card yesterday !!

Minus: Need a new passenger side window and seat.

Went to may parent's house in Alabama for the weekend. Spent the time on the lake riding the boat, swimming, taking my son out rowing, fishing, and letting my son and daughter play with their cousin, grams & papa. My son was so tired by Sunday afternoon it wasn't even funny. He immediately fell asleep when we pulled off to leave.

My dad had one of his pocket multi-tools confiscated at the airport so I got him a new one. I was going to get him a shade for his riding lawnmower but Amazon won't ship it until July! So, he's getting that for his birthday now.

I had already gotten a Dell 2007WFP as part father' day part anniversary gift. So my wife just gave me a shirt from the kids that said "World's Greatest Dad".

Now I'm trying to recover. I'm so sore from all the swimming, rowing, and skiing.

Spent the day at home with wife and 7 week old son just relaxing and having a very lazy day. Had a full English breakfast about 11 and spent the afternoon on the sofa with the little guy.

He and I went to hang with my parents while the g/f went to see her Dad.

son and I went to pool and lounged for a few hours.

Then g/f met up with our family to eat at Japanese Steak house, I bought dinner for everyone. Remind me not to do that again! Hurt da wallet

went to local state park for walk around lake then watched sun set

went home, son and g/f made me my favorite snack, choclate lucky charms and homade jelly biscuits

son went to bed

Watched "True Romance" w/ g/f (my favorite movie of all time. Must see if you haven't yet)
