Father's Day Gifts!

I'ma keep it short. Dad's been wanting his own laptop for a long time. Specifically a Sony one. Everytime he wants to buy one, he's been using the money to either get my brother and I one instead. This was when we were in school. Recently my brother's laptop died when my dad was set on getting Sony FW390, so he got my brother another one instead. Now, I think I got a pretty good deal on the one he wants right now in my basket. He's the type that would tell me not to get it for him etc etc and would tell me to save my money. He just fixed my brothers old laptop and is using that right now. I just wanna say screw it and order the damn thing, he's waited long enough for "his" own laptop. What do you guys think?

Also, please share some of your father's day stories and gift ideas here!

I think it's a great idea. Not only is it a cool gift, it actually holds some meaning. I say go for it.

sounds like a great idea.

i hated trying to figure out stuff for my dad. if he wants something he goes out and buys it.

Yeah, it's usually the case here too. Plus, I'll probably get a lecture about spending money on him.

Yeah, I know it's a nice thought, but I'm not sure if I'd take that route.

Ugghghg. FD is coming up, and I have no idea what to get my dad. He's got like the whole HomeDepot Tools section at home now, seriously.

Like you said, you'd probably get a lecture about spending all that money when he has something that works fine, and he could buy one if he wanted, he didn't work hard for things so you could etc 😛
Does he have any hobbies that you could buy him something for? Is mom still in the picture to ask about things? Ultimately you know him better than anyone here of course, I just know that there's things I'd rather get from my kids than a laptop if I already had one that I was satisfied with.

This is one of those times where being raised by lesbians is great. I just bought my dad a new TV. Since he's not around, I guess I'll be forced to keep it for myself.
