An eight-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of his father and another man in the US state of Arizona.

The detail isn't clear in the article, but how the hell did an 8 year old got a hold of a loaded rifle?

It is obviously that gun control isn't working.

We need OBAMA asap to fix shit like this up.

So you want the government to protect people from themselves? The man should have had his gun secured better, this is more darwin at work than anything else.

His defence lawyer, Benjamin Brewer, said police had overreached in questioning him without representation from a parent or a lawyer, and that they had not advised him of his rights.

How easily it is to forget rights when not dealing with a real person.

It does sound like the police did over reacted, and I don't think the kid have the capability to comprehend if they read him his rights.

For an 8 year old to shoot and kill two adults obviously gun control was working.

The question we should be asking is why???

LOL, seriously that shit was funny. This is like blaming the government if a parent let there 8 year old drive a car and kill someone. Bad parenting here, not bad laws.

Right. The first thing to do when you own a gun is to suspect your 8 year old is going to kill you with it. I wonder how the hell my Dad survived, not to say I didn't terrify him.

Not much different than the kid that shot and killed himself by mostake at the Boston Gun range.

You have to blame the parent even if the parent is killed.

Of course that might also only show where mental health and social services to help the mentally ill are plentiful or scarce. The US is the home of cut throat butcher or be butchered capitalism and competitiveness. We are just more mentally ill than most.

I have a feeling this wasn't a mistake, or they wouldn't have charged him with murder?

We need the Federal Government to mind its own business in this case and allow the state of Arizona to fix shit like this up.

Fixed.

The justice system isn't really equipped to deal with crimes committed by 8-year-olds. Proving intent is very difficult when you are talking about someone that little.

It's only easier with adults because of the convenience of the fiction people are responsible for their actions.

Don't take that to mean they can't or shouldn't be held accountable, but adults are no more responsible than children and often less so.

Crime is mostly mental illness and all our faults because the world is as it is because of who we are.

Chief Deputy Apache County Attorney Brad Carlyon told The Independent his office is prepared to prosecute the youngster to the fullest extent of the law. "Charges of premeditated murder have been filed ... in the Apache County Juvenile Court. The Apache County Attorney's Office is exploring all possible means of handling this matter given the juvenile's age and the heinous manner in which the killings were done."

Something triggered this kid?? From what I've read he had no previous problems?

lol, False... The murder rate in Russia and Ukraine is higher then the US and all guns are banned. Get rid of the murderers and we'll have less murders.

I completely agree, Russia has about 4x higher murders per capita. But if other people are going to use stats from other countries, then so will I.

Are you lowering the standard, and suggest that we should compare the US vs. other despot countries such as Russia, Iran, and North Korea?

[add]

A once great nation that the world looked upon to base their ideal from, and now the best that it can mustered up is that it is still is better than some of the worst despot countries in the world.
