Humm, interesting idea to load the i386 folder onto a bootable CDR to create your own install disk. I'll give this a try on my new ACER.
One question, wouldn't there need to be an install script created ? The ACER backup / restore untility provided the option create a bootable restore disk - but the 3rd party restore utility (NTI or ITN?) that was also included (which works on NTFS formated drives) did not provide the option to create a bootable restore disk.
