Hello,

I've got a complicated problem which I hope someone can figure out. I made the mistake of installing Windows 2000 and attempted to reinstall Windows 98. I have 2 hard drives and so I simply reformatted the C: (which had Windows 200 on it) and reinstalled Windows 98 and tried to keep all my important info on the D: which I did not touch. However, I can only access the D: using windows 2000 (I dual booted just so I can use the D: drive). When I run Windows 98, I can't even see the D:. I figured that the D: was in NTFS format, but apparently all the programs I use state that this drive is still in FAT32 format which Windows 98 shouldn't have a problem reading. Does anyone know whats going on and is there a way to convert to a Windows 98 readable format without having to completely erase all the information on the disk? Any help would be great. Thanks all!

two options:

1. partition magic will convert ntfs to fat32

2. install win2k, move the data to a non-ntfs partition or use some other means of backing it up... cd, tape, move to another system... then remove win2k
