Yep, that's me. My son filmed it when my family said I couldn't do it. I used to ride jetskis all the time years ago when the kids were young and now that I have a 15 year old, I bought a couple standups that needed work and we rebuilt one and rewired another. The one in this video is a 550SX that he rides and I ride a 650SX now. Looking for a good deal on a superjet or 750 SXI pro, probably next year.

Saturday we took the boat out to the lake with friends from work and spent 5 hours boating and tubing. Yesterday my son and I took out the standups and spent 4 hours riding those, and then went home, ate a late lunch and the entire family took the kayaks out and paddled a couple hours. Tired and sore today, but man was it fun!
 
Nice. Used to have a 650SX way back when. Fond memories (and a few scars) from riding all the time.
Bought a Sea Doo Spark Saturday since cruising on the pontoon gets a little boring after a while.
 
Did you ground him for vertical video at least?

My BIL is a beast on those things. He'll find a boat with a big wake and get several feet of air and at times he'll dive the thing below the surface and pop up like a dolphin 😀

It's funny how much you remember. We had some friends on our boat a few years ago and he asked if he could kneeboard. So he's zipping around then all of a sudden starts doing flips (which is not easy on a kneeboard, especially since our boat does not have a ski boat's wake). He said he hadn't been boarding in almost 15 years but wanted to see if he could still do the tricks.
 
The only thing that could possibly make jet skiing (something, I previously thought was proof money could buy happiness) not fun, is vertical video. Time to give the kid up for adoption.
 
I agree with all of you guys on the vertical video. He's into snapchat crap and takes his photos like that. I've threatened him with bodily harm if he does it again!

Trying to get the 1100STX up and running right for this weekend and its kicking my butt trying to figure out what is wrong with it. Clean carbs, clean fuel, good spark, etc, and it bogs out at 5900 rpm (40mph) and won't go any higher in the water (should hit 7200 rpm), and 55 mph.
