Fat Idiot Falls Asleep At Wheel

I was driving back with my friend in a rental from georgia to virginia.

We were so tired.. he fell asleep and I kept dosing off in traffic.

Worst experience of my life.

Luckily I made it home thanks to those strips on the side of the road that make a loud noise when u run over them.

Yeh whatever.

So why was there an in car camera?

notice how he had to use just 1 hand on the wheel because he failed to buckle his fricken seat belt.

This is a R (not that I care I am just saying that is how I know the information below)

if you go on the company's site they should have more videos.

They installed these on numerous cars, I believe they were rental cars.

Agreed, wtf. Also it looks like it was in the middle of the day. Staged? Possibly to show what happens when you're an idiot?

OMG i so know what you mean. Only happened to me once i couldn't believe it, you have no control over your eyes starting to close. Luckily i was nearly at my junction off the motorway.

Possibly a rental or a company car.

There's a company that makes these cameras that automatically record video when triggered by a jolt. They're marketed as providing clear evidence as to what happened to cause damage to a car, or if an employee/customer is driving erratically.

Drivecam case studies

It's funny how he keeps on driving with 1 hand on the wheel and the other on the dead's seat event after the car has started to shake. Maybe he was DUI or sth.

Even when the car is crushed... he keeps one hand on the same seat. Wow

I've fallen asleep once. Though it felt like my body shut down, but my mind didn't. I remember it like it just happened. I remember my eyes closing, and running over the strip that makes the noise, and I knew I was veering off the road, but I couldn't open my eyes. It was scary being completely concious of what was happening but not being able to do anything about it. My friend who was riding shotgun had to hit me to snap me out of it. Good thing it was like 3:00 AM and there was no other traffic. I let her drive the rest of the way back.

you people admitting to falling asleep or almost falling asleep while driving need to stay the fvck off the road. i don't want to get killed or smacked up when you hit me because your ass can't stay awake.

QFT!

NOTHIN wrong with pulling over and falling asleep for a while then starting the trip again! ALOT safer than the alternative.

ive come close to dozing off once... I was driving from PA to FL in the middle of the night. Once you hit florida, its just miles and miles of straight highway. I ran out of coffee somewhere in GA and I though I could make it the rest of the way. I was struggling to keep my eyes open, and then I heard the rumble strips and quickly became alert again.

Now I always make sure ive got a can or two of mountain dew stashed away for emergencies when I run out of coffee 🙂

Not really, considering his story was just a figment of his imagination, and yours might have actually happened...

Also, this comment was great: "drink some fu*king coffee you stupid redneck"

Imagine you were in his position... you'd have to hold yourself in the seat somehow... he wasn't buckled in. It's scary to put both hands on the wheel to steer and still hope to stay in the seat.

True. Occasionally, from working late on projects I have drove home mentally knackered and late at night. Not a good combination. I had never ever at that point thought about falling asleep at the wheel due to the circumstances. I have never been in that state since, but if i were I would try and get some Red Bull in me or just stop off at one of the BB?s on the motorway service stations.

Well I don?t like coffee, so it would definitely be something else with caffeine in like Red Bull.
