Fat cow Uber driver rated me 1 star yesterday for no reason.

WTF? I had a stellar 5 star rating, and it was a quick $8 ride and I left a dollar tip. The ride actually cost more than usual but whatever. I know it was 1 star too because it went from a pristine 5.0 to a 4.6.

I have NO idea why. I didn't bother her, I was freshly showered, shaved and looked pretty with my nice shirt and pants.

On the other hand she looked like she was going to eat me and tattooed up with piercings. Definitely the type of woman you'd want to make fun of on a daily basis.

It's bullshit how drivers can just hit 1 star on a whim. Maybe she was mad I didn't give her some D. Fucking cow.

I didn't even know drivers could rate passengers. Only used the service once.

I may stop using the service altogether. Supposedly I was dinged with a 1 because I didn't offer a paper money tip at the end of the ride.

But now that I looked into the service more, they can add BS cleaning charges and other things that can bite you in the ass later.

It's not worth taking the chance. There are too many things that can go wrong with Uber that can screw passengers.

For me it was convenience. But after seeing how easy it is to get screwed, I am done with them. I am lucky there are other taxi apps in my area that work fine. Just sucks I have to pay with paper money and not know how much the ride will be.

It might, if a driver looks at it and says, they will not pick them up. Get enough people thinking that way and it could be an issue. I am of course assuming drivers can see a rating for a rider.

If you start off maxed and say take 5 trips all rated 5 except one that rated you a 3 what would it be? 23/5=4.6 Now mind you I suck at math so I could be way off but eh.

Because the ability to drive a car and possess a car is sooooo hard. I mean, with all those skills, it's hard to find people that can do that - and that's why we need $200 taxi fares for a 30 minute ride.

I mean, it's only something that anyone at or older than the age of 16 is capable of doing, right? That's tough work.

IANA uber rider, but in any 1-to-5 rating system, a 1 means you did something awful, like letting rip with a epic case of diarrhea.
I'm not sure if "did not tip me" is a valid argument for rating anyone less than 4, because you 'mmericans have a weird way to see tips, but let's not turn this into yet another tipping thread.
so 5 is nice guy, had a chat, gave me $1 tip.

3 weird guy, smelled bad, had to vacuum dirt from his shoes.

So anyone who gives you a 1 should have *some* reason for it, which si what you want, because it's what you can call her out for.

I remember when I was in NYC and the Hilton hotel screwed up so bad with my reservation that by the time it all got sorted they offered to treat me to a free lunch all expenses paid in their upscale restaurant. The food was price gouged all to hell. $8 for asparagus! But whatever, it was their treat so I went nuts. When I got the bill I left the fattest tip for the waiter in my life and checked out.

Left her 5 stars because it was straightforward.

There is some kind of ritual Uber drivers are following where 1 star means that they didn't leave a paper money tip. I must have gotten caught in that.

No, but you can add the tip after the ride. Most expect the tip in paper money so they don't pay taxes on it.
