meh. maybe he's happy the way he is.

if he's unhappy and he really can't stop eating, I'd look into medication.

170lbs @ 5'5" is awful.

pretty skinny?? you're a damn paper weight

I'm 5'11" and 125lbs. My metabolism is WAY too quick. No matter what I eat, it doesn't seem to effect on me.

I understand what your saying, it sounds like he has self control issues.

I know that some days my hunger seems to be unquenchable. When I feel like this today, I drink lots of water and go out of the house and do something. Getting away from the house for a while and focusing on something else for a few hours helps immensely. It's kind of like taking a cold shower to..er..calm yourself down...

It seems that your brother is going to have to suffer some health problems before he realizes what he's doing to himself, which is sad. Maybe when his skin starts to tear with stretch marks he'll wake up. better that than a heart attack. He owes it to his wife and kids to keep himself in better shape. It's never fun lose a husband/father to something that could have been prevented.

When he's ready to do something about his health, be there to help him.

I guess that's one way to put it. If he's happy with his situation then why the hell should I care right? I'll just remind him to put me down as a beneficiary on his will 'cause I'm sure I'll be getting reaping the rewards of his hard work very soon :p j/k

When are people going to understand that people are people, and everybody was wired differently? That different wiring invokes different coping mechanisms. That's what makes us individuals.

Food contains drugs. Drugs cause pleasure.

If you become addicted to eating, you will get fat.

Some people become addicted to "traditional" drugs(alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, coffee).

Some people become addicted to exercising. Those people are skinny.

Some people are prone to being addicts. It is either genetic, or "wired".

Some people never become addicted to anything.

None of the addictions are any different at heart. They just require different interventions.
