FastWrites on Abit KT7 RAID - How do I enable them?

Whom it may concern,

I have the "FastWrite" option supported in the Bios, but according to my FastTrax (freeware from Creative)director, it is not enabled. AGP 4x and Sidebanding work, but not the fastwrites. Running Windows ME on a fresh install. Any Suggestions?

Have you downloaded the AGP Wizard utility on Creative's site and tried it? It will let you check a box to enable FastWrites, and other options.

The FastTrax program is basically the same thing. I am using the Det 3 drivers from Nvidia web site. Also, I have installed the latest VIA 4in1 drivers (AGP and inf driver). Any recommendations?

There is an option in the BIOS to enable FastWrites. However, one of the other options makes fast writes NOT functional if you enable this other option, even though the fast write item still says enabled. Of course I don't remember what that other option is. I only read about it on a KT7 FAQ page a few days ago.

Disable Enhance Chip Performance in the BIOS under CPU setup.

That worked for me.
