I have the asme problem with my KT7-RAID. I just cannot enable them without locking up constantly in any OS, 98, win 2k, XP.

Fast Writes is almost synonymous with a loss in stability and potential overclockability, in theory it's great in the real world it often seems to have a detrimental effect on stability and seems have virtually no effect on performance. Running with fast writes enables is generally between 1-2% slower to 1-2% faster then with it disabled.

AGP 4X can occasionally cause instability upon some VIA based chipsets, and honestly I wouldnt worry about that either. At present AGP 4X provides absolutely no gain over AGP2X. AGP2X is ore then adequate for current graphics cards.

Personally I always leave both disabled even if I can enable them and retain stability as they extremely seldom have any real positive ipact upon performance and both can potentially be a limiting factor when overclocking the AGP bus.
