Try google for reviews. The Benq brand may only be four or five years old but it isn't actually so new as it operated as a unit of Acer before being spun off (and may have been the result of a previous merger, if I recall, so could be considered even older). As such, it would be a good bet the model uses an Acer-Unipac Optronics panel. But in any case, if you cannot find enough information on that specific model you may try checking other brands which use the same panel by panel model or specs.

That link doesn't work for me; I found a couple here and here.

BenQ's been around for awhile; I owned one of ther 17" screens. They are always competitive and agressive selling new panels with low response times. Colours are generally "ok" on their screens (not great; Samsung kills them for colour accuracy, and Samsung is usually middle of the road). Their stands are usually cheap and a bit wobbly; they get the job done but that's about it. They are often priced cheap - usually the cheapest priced monitor in their class for decent quality.

A quick search-a-roo reveals that Acer offers the model "AL1913W A" with the same panel specs and it looks like Viewsonic and ASUS, at least, may offer other equivalents in the same series (_, A, B, C). In the past, with Viewsonic particularly, the same model has been upgraded and sometimes designated with a suffix as the latest AUO panel technology has become available. Intererestingly, Acer lists a 2ms GTG available in that series. Anyway, the AL1913W does seem more common so more general info and reviews are available but it still may take some digging to find info on the the "A" or "C" specifically.

One warning about the ms rating on panels... its often incorrect on panels under 16ms...

Companies (viewsonic started it and others followed) rated the panels below their rated speed.

The crystals will actually turn to accurate color in the rated time, but blow right by that color to others and then bounce back again. There was an AT review a couple months ago covering this issue. 8ms panels were actually rating 25+ms

Check out reviews extensively before you buy to make sure you get what you want. Dont go by the numbers on the box alone.

Edit: typos.

Dang, the resolution isn't that great. And as was mentioned, the ms response may be wrong.

I have a BenQ 19" that is 2 generations older than this one (16 ms) and it games fine so I'm sure one rated at 5 ms will have no problems when used for gaming.
