Are you sure that's sustained. 100mbits is hard to hit those rates like that. Switches/routers have so much overhead, I don't think it's possible. I've done plenty of university network transfers and I only topped out around 6 - 7 MB/sec.

As for comcast, I've sustained 800 KB/sec getting Ubuntu off torrents. Today's Comcast's Powerboost does not count otherwise my 16mbits on DSLReports should too...

I usually max at about 120kbps. Not too bad I guess, considering the connection is wireless. Broadband options are limited where we live, so I am using EVDO broadband through my cell provider.

Only downside is latency sucks something fierce, generally 300-500ms. It's good for downloading, though; so far Alltel has been pretty lenient about bandwidth usage. I've probably downloaded about 25GB during the last billing period. Some cell providers will get real pissed if you exceed as little as 5GB/mo.

As for comcast, I've sustained 800 KB/sec getting Ubuntu off torrents. Today's Comcast's Powerboost does not count otherwise my 16mbits on DSLReports should too...

That speed is not out of the question by any means....I used to consistently sustain 10.5 MB/sec at my university FXP'ing from outside servers. I am somewhat surprised that giganews can provide that fat of a pipe though! They max out my 12Mbit line no problem, but maxing out a 50 or 60Mbit line is pretty impressive!

Trust me, 9mb/sec is more than possible.

I was surprised too. It's amazing how much I can download given my weekly monthly limit just because I can download so much a few minutes before bandwidth reset. I get ~9 MB/s with 10 connections to giganews. It's considerably less with less connections.
