Whats the highest speed Athlon XP processor does this motherboard support? I have rev 1.2 with bios dated 03/25/02. The Epox website (pdf form) says the highest I can go is 1800+. But I have been hearing that people were able to put in 2200+ in there. Is that possible? I wanna go with 2000+.

I have 8kha NOT 8kha+.

Thanks

The PDF list on the website is just a list of Oficially Supported CPU speeds ... its the KT266 Chipset ... I would assume that you would probably be fine with any XP CPU that runs on the 200 or 266 FSB (not the 2700 or 2600 333)

I remember running a celeron 533 @ 800 on my abit bh6 rev 1.0 board that only supported up to pIII 550mhz (with the bios revision I was at at least)

Lots of times the Mobo makers just dont update their lists when new chips come out .. or they dont test them, so they dont support them ... especially when they are a couple generations behind. My guess is that you would have no problems with a 2000 or 2100 or 2200 ... if other people can put a 2200+ in there, a 2000 should work just fine for you

If you look at the manual for that Board .. it only says it supports up to 1.4ghz ...
ftp://ftp.epox.com/motherboard/support/Manual/mu-8kha&8kha+12.pdf
Also looking thru the manual ... it looks like the multiplier can go up to 15 ... or 1995 mhz max at DDR 133FSB. Which is the XP2400+ CPU.

Should work ... but since i dont have one to test it ... I cant say for sure.
