fastest CPU for BE6?

Hi, i don't want to upgrade my motherboard, Abit BE6 slot 1, for now.

and my CPU is a Pentium 3 - 700e

I want to know what slot 1 cpu still in the market(otherwise i need to buy used) is the fastest for my motherboard.

oh... i have the cpu along with a BIG Golden ORB HSF.

get a slotket that converts to the FCPGA2 socket and you can upgrade it to a celeron 1.4GHz

don't want to waste it.... i think it is useful, becasue of the size..

oh can u gimme some thought of how much will the celeron be faster than the old p3-700e?

You'll notice the difference, it's a reasonable upgrade. Probably the end of the line, though.

These guys have all the info- bios versions, compatibility charts, whatever tweaks needed to get it working in your system....

The GORB is a pretty cr@ppy HS IMHO. You'd be better off with the stick HS/F

ok, i have a BE6 motherboard with is SLOT 1.

do i HAVE to use get a converter for these celeron(only SLOT T?)?

and i have a socket370 converter already(slot 1 to 370).

You need a slocket like the Slot-T. Its only $20. The regular slockets can sometimes be modified to work, but not worth it IMHO.
