I've come across a PC with a MSI MS-6117 board and a 266 celeron. Could I use a slot to socket converter (can they still be found?) and put in a faster celeron? I'm guessing something pre flip chip will work like a celeron 533 ppga. Does anyone have a definitive answer and maybe a URL to pass along? Thanks.

Unless the board has voltage and BIOS support for FC-PGA processors, the fastest that an LX board can handle is a 533MHz PPGA Celeron (with a slotket if required).

But you should with the manufacture's web site. I have a Tekram slot 1 440LX motherboard with a
slotket. Because the voltage is very flexible on my board it can take Celerons up to 766.....
