how high can i safely go with an Antec 300 watt power supply? when i was building my current computer (1.2ghz) i was reading that the 1.2 or possibly the 1.33 was the limit on the 300w antec. i got another Antec SX830 to build a new pc and i'm wondering if these new xp processors require a more powerful 400w ps? thanks.

I have an Athlon Thunderbird 1.4 overclocked to 1.53 running on a cheap'n'nasty 300 watt PSU and it runs stable as a rock. The newer Athlon XPs take less power than the older Athlons. My friend has an XP1700 running on a cheap 300 watt PSU and its fine. You should be able to run any of them on a good quality 300 watt PSU but obviously it depends on what other components the PSU needs to power.

<< cool. so i could add an xp 1900 (when the price comes down)? >>

More than likely but obviously with a better quality power supply you'll have more chance of success.
