Recap for those who *still* don't know:

-BFG OC card has 400/1250 Clockspeeds (stock are 375/1200 I think), it overclocks MADLY.
-16 pipes and 6 vertex shaders, currently, RivaTuner doesn't even detect the card properly so unlocking possibilities are unknown though its unlikely the 78GS will unlock.
-Performance right between a X850XT PE (fastest card last gen) and 7800GT, overclocked it might be just as fast as a stock 7800GT.
-It has the complete G70 feature set, BFG recommends a 400WATT PSU with at least 20A on the 12V rail though that is very unlikely seeing as how G70 uses considerablyless power than NV40, if the NV40-based 6800GT requires 350W, I can't imagine a similarly spec-ed G70 card consuming anymore than that.
-Price is currently 349$ at CompUSA and as low as 331 for the XFX brand card in select sites on the net. NDA won't be lifted until Feb 9th so you can expect a huge pricedrop on that date (rumoured and logical price is 300$ or lower).
-It is the fastest AGP card out there.

7800GS overclocked is actually not much faster than the x850XT PE when you overclock it a little. I want a true last gen part, a 7800GT or GTX.

i duno, i like my x800xt pe, a wee bit slower than the x850xt pe, so im guessin the gs isn't that much of a performance gain

Pulled that out of thin air eh?

I'm sure you ran the benchmarks yourself

It is dead. No 64-bit support + no dual core support -- for Socket A and S478 -- and paying $349 for a 16 pipeline 7800GT? Barely any improvement over $200 (for 1 month on sale!) X850XT at microcenter. Wow what a deal. And I am sure A64 users with AGP boards can afford a $60 PCIe one. A 16 pipeline 400mhz 256mb AGP card won't last much longer than 1 year. With AMD adopting DDR2, new socket, and DDR2 prices for 2 gigs of ram lower than DDR1 memory, all AGP users who have waited really have no reason to stop transition to PCIe. It'll happen either now or in 1 year. Might as well sell that AGP setup as soon as possible since in 1 year P4 3.0ghz will be pretty slow.

Edit: Thanks Synth forgot about those rare 939 AGP boards :)

The bolded parts are not true; see my sig.

In general you're right though, as far as new AGP cards becoming available now and in the future. That's why I bought a motherboard that also has a PCI-E slot. ;)

Ok, I know AGP is dead, I was just being sarcastic...

I know, I wasn't directly replying to you anyway ;):p

I'm not too impressed, costs too much for what it offers. I'd rather get a 7800GT/new motherboard if I really had to get a 7x00 series card. Otherwise I'd pick up a $170GTO2 and then overclock the snot of out it. It'll only be slightly slower than a stock 7800GT...

@ Your edit :

This is not a rare board at all. Infact it has sold mass quantity inside and especially outside the US of A. Not to mention the Nforce 3 939 AGP boards thate do exist.

I am happily sailing with my 939Dual SATA 2 with an X2 3800, 2 gig DDR400 and a perfectly unlocked eVGA 6800NU unlock, overlocked, capped with a artic-cooler.

AGP ain't dead, it just smells that way. Some folks would have no reason to upgrade their system yet if a current high-end card was offered in AGP. Plus, it is not always aboot money but time and effort futzing... and some things must be done yourself to be sasifactorily [sic]. Double plus, some folks don't even want to jump into PCIe 1.0 and a soon to be dead-end mobo when new CPU sockets and Extensible Firmware Interface, &c. are forthcoming. And don't even think about saying there is always something around the corner because the last thing the frequent upgrader (as opposed to new system builder) wants to do is base a system on a mobo sans longevity.
