Remember everyone these new videocards NV40 and R420 are not updated versions of the old cores they are all new from the ground up .. well the R420 use's some trademarks from the ATI9800 that made it so good! but the R420 is all new as well as NV40

These will blow away there 1 year old counterparts. and from then on they will be tweaked up just like the NV30 ( FX5800 ) and R300 ( ATI9700 ) got tweaked up to the FX5950 and the ATI9800XT.

Fingers crossed these cards perform identical because if they do price will be the only factor setting them apart and in the end those price's come down and WE WIN !!!!!

OK Oracle :p

I have evidently had the exact opposite experiences as many of you. I have never had a problem with ATI's drivers and have had many with NVidia's (at least according to Windows error reporting).

Never had a problem with ATI drivers either, maybe im just one of the lucky ones. Could be that ATI drivers are less tolerant to the vast amount of system configurations than Nvidia drivers. Why that could be I have no idea.

Most of the games that people complain of not working properly are mostly OpenGL like COD etc. Everything runss fine on my computer, I have quite a few games.:) You tell me the games that dont work and i'll tell you if they work on my machine or not.;)

i'm not i got This info is from Xbit Labs and Digitimes from interviews with Nvidia and ATI Representatives.

Its not something that Nvidia or ATI hafta keep secret from each other and the public anyways because if the competition knows your making a whole new core that doesn?t give away anything but if the competition knows your core will have 16 pipelines and run at 600Mhz then yes ? so the whole new core info from Nvida and ATI Its pretty solid information to me unless Nvidia and ATI don?t know what they are making lol highly unlikely.

Now why ever would ATi and Nvidia want to pump up their products? Remember how the 5800 Ultra was going to blow the 9700 Pro out of the water without breaking a sweat?

Yeah, I'll believe the nextgen cards will trounce the current gen when I see it happen. Until then, gfg.
