Faster Win XP Boot time and shut down times...??

Quik shutdown in winXP

"Open up REGEDIT and goto "HKCURRENTUSER\Control Panel\Desktop\"
and set the setting "HungAppTimeout" to 5000(which is default) and make "WaitToKillAppTimeout" 4000
(20000 is default) Also, go to "HKLOCALMACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\WaitToKillServiceTimeout"
and make that 4000 too. "
As ALWAYS, BACK UP YOU'RE REGISTRY...

In regedit, go to file/export and name the reg file, click ok and then atleast you can restore if anything goes wrong. Don't worry, i have done this on numerous systems and all have been fine.

Have you tried bootvis yet? If not, download it from Microsoft's website and give it a try. It's a boot time optimizer. I forgot the exact URL, but if you search for "bootvis" at the MS download site you should be able to find it.
