Question faster than 144hz

seeing a lot of talk about 240 and 360 monitors. I am using a 144hz monitor and just curious do you really see a difference? I know the numbers sound great but just standard gaming no leet competition play or anything like that.

For standard gaming, it's pretty much worthless.

Just look at frame time comparison
60hz: 16.66ms
120hz: 8.33ms
144hz: 6.94ms
240hz: 4.16ms
360hz: 2.77ms

The jump from 60hz to 120 or 144hz is substantial. Going down by about 8-10ms.

But the jump from 144hz to 240hz is just a 2.78ms difference.
And even the jump from 144hz to 360hz is only 4.17ms

If I was a professional gamer and my livelihood rested on reaction times, it might be worth the jump. Linus (tech tips) had a video where they were able to find a small benefit in gaming results (didn't watch it, just saw the summary). I certainly wouldn't bother to upgrade from a 144->240 if refresh rate was the only improvement.

I see a slight improvement from 120 to 144 or 165 but not nearly as much as 60 to 120 (which is huge and definitely worth it), especially if you compromise on something else. Only old games will run at 165fps consistently as well.
