Faster????? K63+.....100x6 vs 115x5

I currently have an AMD k63+ running on a gigabyte GA-5AX board. It will run at both 6x100 and 115x5...i am wondering which is faster for overall system performance (with all other variables the same). Intuitively I would say that 115x5 is faster due to its increased FSB although it takes a processor hit. On this board do the PCI slots overclock also?

I have run some benchmarks but I have been getting conflicting outcomes so I am still not sure.

A fsb of 115 is pushing your pci bus pretty high, lower 38Mhz. Most cards will work fine, but this is too high for SCSI in my opinion. Your memory bandwidth will increase, but you will loose some MIPS due to the lower clock speed. As in life, it is a tradeoff. I will take the higher FSB for my bandwidth up to the point where my Disk I/O dosen't suffer.

The 115 bus would be faster. It does overclock the pci but if you run it at that bus speed and the system is stable then go for it!
