This topic is just me expressing how happy I now am, hence off topic section.

Gone from stupidly slow internet to a lot faster. Compared to you USA dwellers this probably isn't that big of a thing, but god damn the difference is amazing.

Could never stream HD, games took forever on steam.

I just bought Arkham Asylum on stema for £2.49 and it says all 7.5 gb will be done within half of an hour, downloading at 3-4 mb/s. The highest I ever saw in the past was 600kb/S, but average was about 1-300. Average now is about 3mb. At least a 10x increase.

This is only on wifi also, that previous speed was a direct line! Can stream full HD movies seamlessly through the Sky box or download them very quickly. Feel like i've been living with a limb missing or something lol. Downside is i'm spending more on steam.

What are some of the stupid speeds some of you americans have managed to achieve? or is steam capped?

I usually get 15/15, but upload is usually a little slower (10 or so).

Not sure who told you that, but the 3 people I know that spent time in the UK complained about the internet speed.

Jesus christ. On that website my PC on wifi gets between 25-29 but the company says it qill fluctuate over first 10 days. They say should be able to get 40 max when it settles.

In many places, especially in cities it can be good. We were with a bad company. Also, my area restricts to 40 i've been told. However, before this upgrade it was shocking.
