I checked MSI's website, and they only have the listing for the Turbo2 board, which says it supports up to 1900+. Is this the same with my board? If this is so and I bought a 1900+ cpu, would I not be able to overclock it using the multiplier setting(since it is already the fastest cpu supported)?

The K7T Turbo will only take up to an 1800+. I did some digging out on Usenet MSI newsgroup. Apparently, the voltage regulators on the original Turbo board are the limiting factor.

This is directly from MSI's page:

"K7T Turbo & K7T Turbo Limited can support only up to Athlon XP 1800+ CPU but the K7T Turbo2 can support Athlon XP 1800+ CPU & above. "

ok. but i here on amd's site it says the K7T Turbo can support up to 1900+ and the Turbo2 2000+. But the links on that site to MSI's site say 1800+ and 1900+ respectively. I guess MSI would know their boards better than anyone else. MY other question still remains, if I buy an 1800+, will I be unable to overclock it because of this restriction? also, anyone with first hand experience?

DayLaPaul:
I would respectfully suggest that if you want to believe AMD over the board manufacturer, then that is your business. If you want to try to exceed the recommendations then you probably will not be the first. You also might not be the first to fail. If you are intent on using an XP1900+ and then overclocking it, then I suggest you get a different board that can safely accomidate it. Save yourself a lot of hassle. On the other hand, it won't hurt to try.
